Art Journal ~ You Make Life Beautiful

Good Morning :)
Ok last one I promise lol! I really have enjoyed the April kit, I managed to create 3 layouts, 2 planner spreads, a card and finally an art journal page.

I made a double spread in my Art journal, the Art Journal is a cheap journal I picked up in Asda a while ago, the pages are a little thin but a good coat of Gesso helps :)

The first thing I did was add Modelling Paste through a stencil (crafters Workshop Deco Leaves) Once dry I added Distress inks( Craked Pistachio and Evergreen Bough) and lots of water drying it and adding more colour in stages. I finished off the background with a light splatter of Vintage Photo distress ink mixed with Matt Medium.

I used some scraps of pattern paper from the April kit and cut out a large flower from the Waterlily paper.
This I cut in half and placed in the center of the spread. I stamped a few leaves using the Kaisercraft Sea Breeze stamp set and added a sentiment banner from their collectables.

I tucked some cotton thread and cheese cloth behind the papers and flower.

The "believe" diecut is also from the Kaisercraft Sea Breeze collectables.

To be honest I wasn't sure if the spread wouldn't be messed up when I closed the journal but so far it seems to have survived!

I'm definitely a white space crafter lol! I will be doing more pages with white space I think :)
Do you like to cover the whole page with colour or do you like some white space?

Well April is almost over now and as we head in to May I will be sharing May Page kit inspiration :)
The May kit will be available May 1st in limited numbers, I will be back tomorrow with a sneek peek :)
Have a wonderful day thanks for stopping by

Great Britain Art Journal Page

Good morning :)
I am sharing an Art Journal page created for this weeks C4E recipe challenge today.
The challenge this week is Best of British, any project with a British theme, all the details can be found HERE.

I adhered Tim Holtz Lattice edger die cut chipboard to a page then painted the whole piece with Gesso.

The inner waste pieces from the die cut were added to the opposite side.

The page was then stamped with Stampers Anonymous alphabet and number stamp using black Stazon  ink.

I then coloured the page using Dylusions Inks.

a little more Gesso was added to keep the red, white and blue design.

I then added modelling paste using a Dylusions stencil (diamond border)

Finally I added the title using die cut alphas (Die-versions), which were outlined in a fine black pen.
A fairly quick page with the focus on the colour rather than words.

If you would like to see more fabulous inspiration head over to the C4E challenge blog to see the gorgeous DT inspiration!

Easter Art Journaling

Hello :)
Over on the Crafts 4 Eternity challenge blog we have an Easter challenge running this week.
My project this week is an Art Journal page.

I stamped the Gesso prepared page with grey Stazon and a lovely vintage french script stamp.

The eggs were cut freehand from some paper which happened to be on my desk.

Coloured over with some Dylusions inks.

Stamped again using a butterfly stamp, script stamp and dotty stamp in black Stazon.
Some random Gesso and pink acrylic paint were added on top along with some Gesso through a stencil.

The 'Easter' alphas were treated to a coat of Crackle paint in old paper and tattered rose.
Lastly I used a charcoal pencil, black fine line pen and white pen to add some depth and detail.

More fabulous inspiration from the design team and entry to the challenge can be found HERE.
Have a great weekend

In The World...

Good Morning :)
I am back today with my DT project for this weeks C4E recipe challenge.
All the challenge details, entry and DT inspiration can be found HERE.

My project this week is another Art Journal page.
I love to use quotes on my AJ pages and this one is fabulous! Unfortunately there was no credit for the quote when I found it, if you know who said these fab words please let me know so I can credit them.

This is another page done through C4E workshops :)
It was started in a modelling paste class (the background), and I have added left over pieces from an Autumn wreath class and a beaded flower centres class!

I have used a mix of stamps, paints, Distress inks, Glimmer Mists and Stickles to create the page.
IRL the page has lots of texture and the colours are warm and Autumnal.

My Art Journal is getting a bit fat now lol!
It's actually got a lot of blank pages left but I have done a lot of dimension work in it so I'll have to pull out some pages and make a new one.
I hope you will be able to join us for the challenge this week
see you there!
Have a great weekend

Art, inspire, create

Good Morning :)
I am so glad it's the weekend! Yay! It's been another busy week with C4E subs kits, gymnastics and an ironing board which was left out in the hopes that I might do the ironing lol! Never mind all is well as we have a new challenge on the Crafts 4 Eternity challenge blog.....

My project this week is an Art Journal page.

When I am preparing for workshops I usually try out the technique in my journal.

I have used die cuts, crepe bandage, washers and lace to create the background.

The page was coloured with Dylusions Ink sprays (gorgeous inks!)
I have a video tutorial for creating the pastel shades with Dylusions
 HERE

When the inks were dry I stamped with Stazon and Silver paint, then added some doodle dots with a silver pen.
To finish I added some alphas from my stash.

The challenge ends Thursday 3rd October at Midnight so there is plenty of time to hop over
 and join us.
While your there check out the DT inspiration, it's gorgeous!!
Have a great weekend
