Mixed Media card ~ Be Happy and Smile

Good Morning :)

Last week at the Crafts 4 Eternity monthly crop the workshop was Clever Clusters. We used printed die cuts to make cluster embellishments for layouts, cards and more!

I made this card as part of the demonstration.

The April Page Kit includes a selection of die cuts.

It's quite simple in design but has a mixed media background and lots of dimension.

The die cuts used are from Kaisercrafts Sea Breeze collection. I added washi tape pieces and silver thread between the layers of diecuts.

The background was an experiment! I saw an article in the Docrafts magazine where a crackle background was created using PVA glue and acrylic paint.

You paint a thick layer of PVA glue on to cardstock, then a thick layer of acrylic paint on top whilst the glue is still wet. when you dry it with a heat tool it cracks.

It was a quick process and the effect was ok, not as good as a crackle product but I do like to experiment :)

C4E Recipe challenge #244 ~ Coffee Filter Art Card

Good Morning :)

I hope you have had a good week :) It's been the normal busy type of week here, poorly boys, work, gymnastics classes all the usual :) Although new website for Crafts 4 Eternity is a step closer to being completed YAY!

I'm so glad it's Friday and I can have the weekend to catch up and get ready for the scrappy retreat next week!

As it is Friday we have a new challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity, this week we would like you to share projects which feature some handwriting. My card this week was a made using a technique I taught at the Crafts 4 Eternity crop last weekend.

I stamped, stenciled and splatted ink on to a coffee filter then cut out heart to add to a very CAS card.

The sentiment was handwritten. I'll admit I wrote in pencil first lol!

Mixed Media Spring Birdhouse

Good Morning :)

As promised I am back today with my DT project for this weeks C4E Recipe challenge. You can find all the challenge details, entry and fabulous DT inspiration HERE.

My project this week is a Recycled Birdhouse.

The Birdhouse was last weeks C4E's crop workshop and lots of fun to make :)

The main structure of the box was made with recycled corrugated boxes. I used a template to cut out the four sides then constructed it using side hinges.

The box was then given a coat of Deco Art's Crackle Paste, followed by a wash of acrylic paint.

The Crackle Paste dries to form really defined cracks and is gorgeous!

I made the roof using 45 individual tiles! Each one was individually distress and added to the roof base.

I decorated the roof with a flower cluster to finish it off.

I kept the decoration of the Birdhouse quite simple adding another flower cluster with a Tim Holtz number plaque.

The finished Birdhouse is about 7" high!

There were so many options for this Birdhouse adding more decoration, a birds nest inside and so much more!

The girls at the workshop had lots of fun making their Birdhouses and each one was different.

My card this week is a mixed media card which I will be teaching at Sunday's C4E crop.

I have used Teresa Collins Documented DP with Teal ink, paper flowers and stamped butterflies.

The card has lots of dimension so not a good one for posting lol!

I added some Modelling Paste through a Chicken wire stencil on to the background.

Galaxy Mixed Media Card

Good Morning :)

My project this week is a card using a technique I am teaching this weekend at the

  Crafts 4 Eternity workshops

It is also my DT project for this weeks Anything Goes challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity

I did a few cards this week using this technique, I love the galaxy feel of the background on this one.

I have used watercolour paints, alcohol inks, Gesso to create the background.

The embellishments were from my scrap box :)

Fancy Folds

Good morning :)

It's been a busy week preparing for the first classes of the year. 

Tomorrow we will be at Banwell village hall for the monthly all day crop.

We have two classes tomorrow, the first 10 - 1pm is a recipe book and swap and the second, 1pm -5pm is a circle side step card.

My card is for both the class tomorrow and for this week C4E recipe challenge.

The circular card base is cut and folded to make little steps on one side.

It gives the card lots of dimension.

I have used DP's from my stash and the sentiment is a C4E digital stamp.

The image is a Molly Bloom stamp coloured with Distress Inks.

To finish the card I made two pennant flags and added lots of stickles.

Still lots to do for tomorrow so a busy day ahead :)

August Class Notes

 Hello :)

Crafts 4 Eternity will be holding it's monthly crafting classes this Sunday 18th August.

The classes are held at Banwell village hall, near Weston-super-mare.

There are two classes and an all day crop!

 The first class is GLUE GUN ART!

I will be sharing a few interesting techniques with your glue guns!

Did you know they are not just for sticking buttons on to your cards lol!

We will be experimenting with stamps, Dylusions ink spray and distress reinkers and of course the glue guns!

This class runs from 10am until 1.30pm and costs £10.00
Light refreshments, tools and materials are included.
(you may like to bring along your own glue gun)

The second class of the day is A Guide to including Ephemera on your layouts.
In this class I will be sharing a few ideas on how to include your special ephemera on your layouts.
We will be completing a layout in this class and you will need to bring your own ephemera (letters, leaflets, notes, drawings etc.)
This class runs from 1.30pm until 5pm and cost £10.00
Light refreshments, tools and materials are included.

Please bring your own ephemera.

If you prefer you can join us for the whole day!
A whole day crop includes both classes, page kit and light refreshments all for £19.00
You will need to bring along your own lunch.

Corrosion

Good morning :)

I have my DT project for the Crafts  4 Eternity Recipe challenge to share with you today.

There are a lot of pictures today so you may want to grab a cuppa lol!

 My project this week is a pair of wall plaques.

I have been preparing for the monthly C4E classes next week. One of the classes is Glue Gun Art where we will be experimenting with glue guns! 

The base of the plaques were cut from an old corrugated box and measure roughly 6 x 5".

The base was painted with Gesso before adding some die cut shapes and plasterboard tape.

 

 

 I used a mix of Dylusions ink sprays and Distress reinkers for the colour.

To finish I added gold paint and some crystal beads.

The Glue Gun Art Class is next Sunday (18th August) 10am - 1.30pm at Banwell village hall near Weston-super-mare. To book your space email me at crafts4eternity@aol.co.uk.

Inky Fingers Layout

Good morning :)

My project this week is an un-named layout I did for a C4E workshop recently.
It is also my DT project for this weeks C4E challenge ~ Inky Fingers! You can enter the challenge and see all of the gorgeous DT creations HERE.

I have used Dylusions Ink sprays and stamped with Stazon ink over a Gesso background of cardstock shaped.

The cardstock shapes gave the background lots of depth and interest.

 

 The little girl in the photo is my niece at my wedding nearly 6 years ago, so she's grown a lot since then lol!

I have a second layout to complete to make this a double spread of my two nieces who were flower girls.

 I didn't use much paper or embellishments for the layout. There are some inked flowers, painted chipboard flourish, crepe bandage, tracing paper, 1 piece of DP, wood veneer leaves and some flat back gems.

 I love Dylusions ink sprays! You can have the really bright colours or tone them down to make pastel shades. I did a quick video tutorial for making the pastel shades with Dylusions very bright colours you can see it HERE.

I will be teaching two workshops tomorrow at the C4E all day crop a gorgeous passion flower class and a 3 hole pamphlet stitched journal. There are a few spaces left, if you would like to join us email me at crafts4eternity@aol.co.uk

Special Day Tri-fold aperture card

 Hello everyone :)

My card for this weeks C4E recipe challenge is a Tri-fold aperture card.

I taught this class last month at the C4E crop :)

 I used papers and embellishments from the Captured Moments Page kit.

The card has two apertures, two folds and a lot of stickles lol!

All of the edges were inked and stickled, even the aperture edges!

 

 The sentiment is a Bo Bunny stamp and the flowers were made using a small scalloped circle punch.

The mini acetate film strip from the kit and I added an extra wood veneer camera from my stash.

(one is supplied in the kit)

I'll be teaching again next Sunday at Banwell village hall we will be making passion flowers and taking our first steps into book binding!

It is also our 4th birthday! So extra cake lol!
